Violence and sexual offences dominated the crime profile in Llanharan and Brynna during November 2025, accounting for 42.9% of all reported crimes. This category, which saw a rate of 2.7 per 1,000 residents, was 5% above the UK average for the same category, highlighting a localised concentration of violent incidents. The overall crime rate for the area stood at 6.2 per 1,000 residents, 15.1% below the UK average of 7.3 per 1,000, indicating a relatively safer environment compared to the national picture. However, this safety is tempered by significant deviations in specific categories, such as public order offences (1.0 per 1,000) and possession of weapons (0.4 per 1,000), which were 113% and 471% above their respective UK averages. These anomalies suggest that while the area is generally less prone to crime, certain social or environmental factors may be driving specific types of offences. November’s seasonal context—marked by Bonfire Night, Black Friday shopping, and extended darkness—likely contributed to these patterns. The built-up nature of the area, combined with its population density, may exacerbate public order issues, while the relatively low rates of burglary and anti-social behaviour (which were 67% and 91% below UK averages, respectively) indicate that property crime and disorder are not the primary concerns. This combination of local conditions and national trends underscores the need for targeted interventions in areas where the crime profile diverges sharply from the UK norm.
