Bloxwich, a built-up area within Walsall, recorded 500 crimes in July 2025, equating to 9.3 crimes per 1,000 residents. This rate places the area 8.1% above the UK average of 8.6 per 1,000, highlighting a persistent challenge in maintaining public safety. The most prevalent crime type was violence and sexual offences, accounting for 45.2% of the total (226 incidents), followed by criminal damage and arson (8%) and anti-social behaviour (7.6%). These figures reflect a mix of local dynamics, including the area’s proximity to Walsall’s urban core and the seasonal context of July—a peak summer month marked by festivals, extended evenings, and increased foot traffic in public spaces. The higher-than-average rate of violent crime may be partly explained by the overlap between local youth activity and the influx of visitors during summer events. Conversely, anti-social behaviour rates were 55% below the UK average, suggesting that community-focused policing or local initiatives may be contributing to a reduction in such incidents. Property crimes, including burglary and vehicle crime, also showed notable trends, with vehicle crime rising sharply in the month. These patterns underscore the need for targeted interventions during high-traffic periods, while also acknowledging the area’s relative success in curbing certain categories of crime.
