Violence and sexual offences emerged as the dominant crime category in Haslemere during November 2025, accounting for 30.2% of all reported incidents. This category, while significant locally, remained 53% below the UK average of 2.6 per 1,000, illustrating a marked divergence from national trends. The area’s overall crime rate of 3.8 per 1,000—47.9% below the UK’s 7.3—positions it among the safest in the country, a pattern consistent with its character as a low-density built-up area within Waverley. Anti-social behaviour and public order offences followed, each contributing to a broader picture of community-focused crime that contrasts with the UK’s higher rates of property-related incidents. Seasonal factors, including the dark evenings of November and the residual effects of Black Friday shopping, may have influenced patterns. The relatively low incidence of vehicle crime (50% below the UK average) and burglary (67% below) further reinforces the area’s safety profile, possibly linked to its smaller population and limited retail presence compared to major urban centres. This data suggests a community where local policing and environmental factors likely contribute to sustained low crime rates, even during periods of heightened seasonal activity.
