Nest cameras are well-designed and integrate nicely with Google's ecosystem. If you're already in that world, they fit naturally.
The limitation is the same one every consumer camera shares: they're reactive. A Nest camera will show you excellent footage of someone breaking into your car. The app will notify you. You'll watch it happen from wherever you are, unable to do anything about it.
