Stop the Flood: How to Fix Too Many Alerts from Your Anran Camera
Anran security cameras are a great way to keep an eye on your property, but a constant barrage of notifications can make the system feel useless. When your phone buzzes every time a leaf blows past, you might start ignoring alerts altogether, potentially missing a real security event.
This guide is designed to help you take back control. We will walk you through the settings in the Anran app to filter out the noise and ensure you only receive notifications that truly matter.
Key Settings to Adjust in the Anran App
The solution to reducing unwanted alerts lies almost entirely within the camera's settings, which you can access from your smartphone. Open the Anran app, select the camera you want to adjust, and tap the gear icon to get to the settings menu.
1. Adjust Motion Detection Sensitivity
This is your primary tool for controlling alerts. The sensitivity level determines how much movement is required to trigger a notification. If you're getting too many alerts, the sensitivity is likely set too high.
- Navigate to Motion Settings: In the settings menu, find an option labelled "Motion Detection" or "Alarm Setting".
- Lower the Sensitivity Level: You will typically see a slider or a numbered list for sensitivity (e.g., Low, Medium, High or 1-10). If it's on a high setting, reduce it to a medium or low level.
- Test the Changes: After each adjustment, observe the camera for a while to see if the number of false alerts has decreased. It may take a little experimentation to find the sweet spot.
2. Configure Motion Detection Zones
This is a powerful feature that lets you tell the camera where to look for motion. By default, it monitors the entire field of view. By setting a specific zone, you can ignore movement in irrelevant areas.
- Find the Motion Zone Setting: This is usually located within the same "Motion Detection" menu. It might be called "Activity Zone" or "Motion Zone".
- Define Your Area: The app will show you the camera's view with a grid overlaid. You can select the squares that correspond to the area you want to monitor, such as your driveway, a doorway, or a garden path.
- Exclude Problem Areas: Crucially, you should deselect the squares that cover busy roads, public footpaths, or your neighbour's garden. This will stop passing cars and pedestrians from triggering alerts.
3. Enable Humanoid Detection (AI Detection)
Many modern Anran cameras are equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI) that can distinguish between different types of motion. Enabling this is one of the most effective ways to cut down on false alarms.
- Locate AI Settings: Look for a setting called "Humanoid Detection," "AI Detection," or "Smart Detection."
- Turn It On: When this feature is enabled, the camera's processor analyses any motion it detects. It will only send you a push notification if it identifies the shape of a person.
- The Benefit: This is incredibly effective at filtering out alerts from pets, swaying trees, changing shadows, and insects, as the camera understands these are not human threats.
4. Set an Alert Schedule
Do you really need motion alerts while you're at home during the day? An alert schedule lets you choose specific times and days to receive notifications.
- Find the Scheduling Tool: This is often called "Alarm Schedule" or "Notification Schedule."
- Set Your Active Times: You can configure the system to only send you motion alerts during times you are typically away from home or overnight. For example, you could set it to be active from 10 PM to 7 AM on weekdays and all day on weekends when you might be out.
By combining these four strategies—adjusting sensitivity, defining motion zones, enabling human detection, and setting a schedule—you can dramatically reduce the number of unwanted alerts from your Anran camera, making it a much more effective and less intrusive security tool.
