Out of hours security for business

The night shift that never clocks off.

Out of hours security for business, built on the cameras already covering your yard, workshop or unit. A Hub links your existing cameras to our own models, which run in the cloud. Suspicious behaviour is met with sudden light and voice, in seconds, through compatible lights and speakers on your site.

After closing time

When the shutter comes down, most cameras just record

A yard, workshop or unit is busy all day and empty all night. The cameras stay on, but on most sites all they do is record. You find out what happened when you scroll back through the footage the next morning.

Traditional business security often relies on people at a monitoring centre filtering alarms and deciding whether to act. scOS takes people out of that loop.

Our models make the decision, and compatible lights and speakers on your site respond on their own. The alert tells you what was seen. scOS isn't a monitoring centre. It doesn't call the police or a keyholder. Alerts come to you.

Overnight business security

What runs while the site is empty

All four parts are automatic, with one limit. If your internet drops, detection, alerts and response pause until it's back, because our models run in the cloud. If your Hub has an external hard disk, its 24/7 recording carries on locally.

  1. A Hub beside your router

It connects to your wired cameras over ethernet. Mixed brands are fine. We need each camera's stream details and admin login, so we can connect its stream and set it up for the service.

  2. Our models read every stream

Frames go to our cloud. The models tell a person from a fox and set rain and headlights aside. There are no detection zones to draw.

  3. Property Line Intervention decides

Once someone crosses onto the site, it weighs what is happening, when it happens and how someone is moving. How Property Line Intervention works.

  4. The site responds, then reports

Your connected lights and speakers act together, in seconds. An alert with a still comes to you, and your security briefing has the night summed up by morning.

Yard, workshop and unit security

Three sites, one night each

Three ordinary sites, each with compatible lights and speakers connected. The times and layouts are examples. The steps are how scOS works on any site.

Yard security cameras

A builders’ merchant yard

Palisade fence, a sliding gate, racked timber and two vans parked up. Four cameras: the gate, two on the fence line and one over the van bay.

  1. What the cameras see

Headlights sweep the gate from the road at 11.15pm. A fox crosses the timber racks at 12.30am. Neither raises an alert. At 2.05am a person climbs the fence beside the van bay.

  2. How scOS decides

    what
A person, not an animal or a shadow.
    when
Two in the morning, hours after the gate was locked.
    how
Over the fence, not through the gate.
    where
    Heading for the vans.
  3. What responds

The floodlight over the van bay comes on and the speaker beside it plays an automated warning that the site is private and they should leave, in seconds. An alert with a still reaches your phone.

  4. In the morning

Your briefing lists the 2.05am event between the quiet hours. Ask scOS Director “What happened by the vans last night?” and get the answer with a ready-edited clip.

Workshop CCTV

A vehicle repair workshop

A roller shutter at the front, a side door to the car park and customers’ cars inside overnight. Six cameras, inside and out.

  1. What the cameras see

Rain from 9pm. At 10.40pm a neighbour pulls out of the shared car park, headlights across the shutter. Neither raises an alert. At 1.20am two people walk down the side of the building and stop at the side door.

  2. How scOS decides

    what
    Two people on foot.
    when
Well after close, with the shutter down since six.
    how
Round the side, away from the road, and lingering at the door.
    where
At the way into the workshop.
  3. What responds

The light above the side door comes on and a voice from the speaker addresses them, in seconds. The Hub keeps the event footage, encrypted, and the alert comes to you.

  4. In the morning

Your briefing includes the 1.20am event. Ask Director “Did anyone try the side door last night?” for the answer and the clip.

Industrial unit security

A unit with a loading yard

A loading dock, a pallet yard and a small gatehouse. Eight cameras covering the gate, the dock doors and the yard.

  1. What the cameras see

The site shuts at Saturday lunchtime. Through the weekend the cameras see rain and pigeons on the dock canopy. None of it raises an alert. At 7.10pm on Sunday a person walks in through a gap beside the gatehouse.

  2. How scOS decides

    what
    One person on foot.
    when
Sunday evening, with the site shut since Saturday.
    how
Through a gap, not the gate.
    where
Along the loading dock, trying each door in turn.
  3. What responds

Lights along the dock come on and the gatehouse speaker addresses them, in seconds. An alert with a still comes to you.

  4. In the morning

Your next briefing includes the 7.10pm event on Sunday. Ask Director “Did anyone come onto the site at the weekend?” and get the answer with a ready-edited clip.

scOS looks for suspicious behaviour, not objects, so rain, headlights and animals don't trigger alerts. Some false alerts are still possible. If you switch on training contributions for a camera, expect more alerts than usual from it for up to two months while it learns.

Add-on

The whole site on the office or gatehouse TV

Lynceus shows every live camera feed on the TV or display you already have, controlled with the TV remote. It reacts to what’s happening on site and draws attention to where people are.

During the day, whoever is in the office or the gatehouse can see the gate, the dock and the yard at a glance, without opening an app.

£500 one-off, on any plan. How Lynceus works.

In practice

One site we brought online

A car dealership in England moved to a larger site with no CCTV and no internet. A Temporary Recorder covered it until a Starlink dish brought it online, and two weeks from first contact, 18 cameras fitted by a third-party installer were running. That is what happened once.

Starlink was arranged for that project, not a standard part of the service. Your timeline depends on your site.

FAQ

Questions about out-of-hours security

scOS isn't a monitoring centre. It doesn't call the police or a keyholder. Alerts come to you. Our models in the cloud decide what needs a response. Suspicious behaviour is met with sudden light and voice, in seconds, through compatible lights and speakers on your site. If your insurer requires a monitored (NSI or SSAIB) alarm, keep it. scOS can run alongside it.
