AI for existing CCTV cameras

Your cameras already see. Now they'll answer back.

AI for existing CCTV cameras, without replacing the ones on your walls. A Hub links your existing cameras to our own models, which run in the cloud. Suspicious behaviour is met with sudden light and voice, in seconds, through compatible lights and speakers on your site.

Sharp footage, the morning after

To stop false CCTV alerts, start with the cause: motion detection reacts to anything that moves.

Most home CCTV does one job well. It records. You end up with a clear clip of someone trying the car door at 2am, and you watch it over breakfast. The camera saw it all and did nothing about it.

Then there are the alerts. A cat crosses the drive. Headlights sweep the hedge. Rain catches the infrared. The phone buzzes each time, so eventually you mute it, and the one alert that mattered arrives on silent.

scOS looks for suspicious behaviour, not objects, so rain, headlights and animals don't trigger alerts. Some false alerts are still possible. If you switch on training contributions for a camera, expect some extra alerts from it in the first few weeks while it learns.

From your router to a response

  1. A Hub goes next to your router

A compact Intelligence Hub plugs into your router and talks to your cameras over ethernet, the same wired network they use now.

  2. Our models decide

A Hub links your existing cameras to our own models, which run in the cloud. They weigh what is happening, when it happens and how someone is moving.

  3. Light and voice respond

Suspicious behaviour is met with sudden light and voice, in seconds, through compatible lights and speakers on your site.

  4. You ask, scOS Director answers

Type "Did anyone come to the door today?" and get the answer with a ready-edited clip. No menus, no scrubbing through a timeline. How scOS Director works.

Make my CCTV cameras smart

Will my cameras work?

Four checks you can do in a few minutes, with the cameras you already own.

  1. Each camera has its own ethernet cable. Look for an RJ45 plug at the camera or on the recorder. Models sold as PoE or IP cameras usually take power and data down that one cable.
  2. They record at 1080p or above. The spec sheet or your recorder settings will show 1920×1080, 2MP or higher.
  3. The brand matters less than the cable. Brands such as Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Uniview and Reolink work, and you can mix them. See the full list of compatible brands, or find your brand's own comparison page.
  4. Nothing relies on Wi-Fi. scOS does not use Wi-Fi cameras, so battery and Wi-Fi-only models are out. Everything runs over ethernet.

Privacy

Your cameras stay yours

Where the video goes, and for how long, is written down. Why we never sell data.

  • scOS staff have no live-view access to your cameras. It's blocked in our infrastructure.
  • Video frames go to our cloud for analysis and are discarded within a day. Recordings stay on your Hub, encrypted. Alert stills are kept for up to 30 days.
  • Our primary cloud stores are in the UK and Ireland. Some named processors are in the US; the Data Ethics Zone lists them.

Existing cameras: your questions

If they are wired over ethernet (PoE or IP) and record at 1080p or above, they should. Run through the four checks on this page, or read which cameras are compatible.
